CloudPrime (Pty) Ltd is a South African legal technology company. We build LexPrime OS — the AI-powered operating system designed specifically for the South African legal industry. We're not a global SaaS retrofitted for SA; we're built here, for here.
Our story
CloudPrime was founded with a simple observation: South African law firms were being sold generic legal practice management software designed for the US or UK market. Clio, PracticePanther, Smokeball — all excellent products, but none of them understand the Road Accident Fund, the Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014, FICA, POPIA, CCMA procedures, or the conveyancing workflow at the Deeds Office.
We built LexPrime OS from the ground up for South African legal practice. Every module — RAF, conveyancing, labour/CCMA, criminal, corporate, estates, immigration, IP, maritime — is designed around SA statutes, court procedures, and regulatory requirements. Our AI prompts reference specific sections of POPIA (Sections 11–14, 17, 22, 23, 30, 72) and FICA (CDD/EDD, PEP screening, STR obligations). Our trust accounting code references LPA Section 35(4) certificates.
We're based in Johannesburg and support is staffed locally, in South African time zones. We don't outsource offshore. When you call us, you speak to someone who understands SA law.
Our mission
To give every South African law firm — from solo practitioners in Limpopo to 50-partner firms in Sandton — access to AI-powered tools that were previously only available to the largest firms. We believe:
- •SA legal data should stay in SA. Your client files should never leave South African jurisdiction. That's why we built on local Ollama AI, not OpenAI.
- •Pricing should be honest. We publish our prices in ZAR, with no hidden fees, no annual contracts, and no feature gating between plans.
- •Compliance claims should be honest. We say "POPIA-aware architecture" not "POPIA Compliant" — because we don't have the certification and won't pretend we do.
- •Support should be local. Our team is in Johannesburg, our hours are SA hours, and our responses come from people who understand SA law.
What we don't do
Honesty works both ways. Here's what we won't do:
- ✕Claim POPIA compliance without certification.
- ✕Sell "cloud-hosted" SaaS when the product is self-hosted on a VPS.
- ✕Lock your data hostage — you can export everything and leave anytime.
- ✕Outsource support offshore.
- ✕Charge exit fees or data migration fees.
